from the chaos

i am not feeling particularly serene, nor particularly focused, but our old house is past tense, and our new house is present tense: it is starting to feel, sound, and smell like us.
there is equanimity in unpacked boxes, i am assured, and in tidy cupboards, so i shall unpack, and tidy, and count on an inevitable calm.

  1. Turn the page, a new environment, a new phase in life. I'm sure you'll settle in nicely.

  2. a beginning for you, an especially good one too since it was chosen and deliberate and born out of desire. enjoy its unfolding and capture it on film and in pixels.
I am looking forward to some of those images getting posted here as well.

  4. Lovely composition. A perfect picture of serenity. The blue water especially emanates a feeling of calm. I wish my little digital camera could produce images like that.
Been lurking here for some time, wonderful work. Good luck with the unpacking and settling in. :)

  5. Well, at least you already have a photo that is breathing calmth and serenity. Is it a view from where you live now ?

  6. In my packing/unpacking endeavors (both unpleasant for me) are the promises of the future tense that keeps me going.

  7. We haven't done it for a long time, but I always loved the setting up of the new house...the stereo and then playing my favorite music in the new house, hanging photos, even making the bed for the first time.
This is a lovely photo, well representative of the calm you will soon feel in your new home.

  11. The longing for calm. I see it. Now, what is this transition (I can tell by your choice: water --I don't know, I'm weird like that), it can't just be the house, is it? I hope you're doing better.

  14. Strange, somehow I missed this post. Can it be that your RSS feed is a bit dodgy? Anyway: congratulations! Hope everything went well and nothing got broken during the move. Have fun in your house-to-home period!
