feathers and flights

"an aim in life is the only fortune worth finding."
- robert louis stevenson (scottish essayist, poet and author, 1850-1894)

my daughter - in nova scotia six months today - is still standing strong, despite a few stumbles into frustration and despair. she is more resilient than she realises.
and more missed than she suspects.

  1. Darts. Aim. Six Months. Missing. Our children are not our children, I once read. They are themself, or something like that. My eldest boy comforted me today. Nice. Important is: that they love you and that they are loved, whereever they are.

  3. We must indeed release our children and admire them for standing on their own.

  4. The deep, moody colors here leave me with a deliciously melancholy feeling. I love it.
