truly unexpected tidings
sometimes i shoot all 36 exposures in the space of a single hour;
sometimes i collect my negatives from the shop and see a whole season reflected, reproduced in three dozen frames.
these forgotten images - the ones that cross borders (from norfolk to alkmaar to broek op langedijk, for example) and travel time - more than make up for the supreme frustration of endlessly half-finished rolls of film.

i'm off to see my best friend. my five favourite cameras have been fed and packed.
i'll be back on the 15th.

Have a good time; it was some while that you had a vacation, I think.
ReplyDeleteNice photos again!
Since going digital I miss the thrill of collecting photos at the shop. Maybe I should also take up the old Leica and the Minolta again.
Such lovely scenery...
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your visit. I am, of course, looking forward to seeing the photos.
Have a wonderful time! The beauty of your eye never ceases to amaze me. One of the best things about blogging has been able to pop over here over the last 3-1/2 years to be graced with your images (and words).
ReplyDeleteSo what are your 5 favourite cameras?
ReplyDeletewell. my faithful and utterly dependable old nikon FE. my little ricoh Gr1s, which does so many things so well. my minolta autocord, which is the loveliest TLR i have ever handled (i wish i could scan its negatives instead of scanning its prints: so sharp!). my leica M6, which is superb, and worth all the pennies (even 2nd hand) i pinched to buy it last fall. and my 4 polaroid spirit, which does what i hope it will, every time. what are YOURS?
ReplyDeletei want to live in place where canals flow between the houses! really cool !
