the weather with you

we finally saw real snow here today - snow that lasted beyond the morning; tender, tireless snow that flurried and settled so splendidly that delays and cold feet ceased to matter.
this old city, touched by winter, feels timeless, and almost surrealistically authentic.
the staid brickwork, the graceful gables and the tiled roofs, the cobblestones, the mullioned windows, the drawbridges, the bicycles: they are picture-postcard-pretty
at any time, but now, at season's end, and powdered pristinely white, they are
simply enchanting.

  7. Believe it or not, it's been flurrying all day in Nashville, Tenneesee -- quite rare.
I'm just getting back to work, back to life, from my vacation, but you'll be hearing from me soon Lynn.

  8. I like how the wires in this overlap the archway and seem like it's part of it.

  9. it's intriguing that by a simple 'move' of nature all at once our world can look so much 'softer'

  10. lovely pictures! Especially the one of the bike.
My town has transformed into a snowy heaven too. Even my backyard looks like this sugar white world. Kids playing in the snow in front of my house and for once I don't mind their screams. I get mellow when it snows I guess.
Time for hot tea and cinnammon treats!

winter is still staying here, but watching the colors in your photos is like getting aware of the sound of some birds, that can already be heard here and there in the parks...
