perhaps it was the dull and white-skied october day itself that pushed these reticent patches of colour onto center stage, where they bowed gracefully, blushed, and accepted the applause, the accolades, and the appreciative click of cameras.
*for i-gizmo: red.
~what grabbed me first was the off-center placement of the main subject in the frame, kudos for that compositional choice...then the DOF and lastly the theme, red...sparse but definitely the focal point here in the frame~
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!
ReplyDeleteI like this looks like not your taste that I know.
But, I love this red color.
Very delicate and very nicely balanced with the out-of-focus (and equally) red background.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot. It's very interesting because yesterday I spent all the afternoon walking about my area of the city hunting for nice autum colours, and actually took a photo of exactly the same plant.
ReplyDeleteI love how the red in the background echos the berries in the foreground. Great shot.
ReplyDeleteLynn, I wish you were here today. We have had tons of snow and I need someone to make me see it as beautiful rather than oppresive and sad. Funny, I thought of you right away when i saw the snow. :-) in a nice way of course...
ReplyDeleteAgrees with Matt's comment, im stunned by this photo, and very impressed by your site! LiV
ReplyDeleteGreat indeed: red in the foreground and background. Super usage of dof. The berries give me the impression that they are not all that sharp, could be the reflection. But a great composition, without a doubt.
ReplyDeleteOh, Lynn, you can always brighten my day... Lovely shot! :)
ReplyDeleteVery nice shot!
ReplyDeletereally nice site!
ReplyDeleteHrmmmm yummy!
ReplyDeletethink the eyecatching deep red colourpatches in the background make the image
ReplyDeleteso strong
( think about passion, tears from heaven,...)
