that rainbow again
"every cloud has its silver lining but it is sometimes a little difficult to get it to the mint."
- donald r. perry marquis (american writer and columnist, 1878-1937)
if this little country weren't so utterly flat, the view wouldn't go on for miles and miles, and the sky wouldn't seem so endless.
and if this endless sky weren't so utterly grey and damp, the fields would not be this glorious day-glo green.
sometimes i fear i will never adapt. mostly, i know i did long ago.

Very nice!
ReplyDeleteLove the lined up palmtrees in the distance!
perfectly composed, superbly balanced in surfaces and colours
ReplyDeleteyou surely got this one to the mint (though i think donald marquis's words are going deeper than this)
this is 'holland' as i know it and want to know
i smell a 'positive look' on things
Beautiful picture!
ReplyDeletewhat a wonderful composition. I love the saturation in the greens too. this is a lovely image.
ReplyDeletebeautiful photograph Lynn!
ReplyDeleteThat is so awesome! It looks like none of those colors and things belong together. Great composition.
ReplyDeleteThis one has something surrealistic. It seems too square, too flat.
ReplyDeleteThe grass is too green.
The clouds are to dramatic.
I like it though.
... but ... they are so not palm trees ...
ReplyDeletei can't take my eyes off this. i will be there, someday... and last line of your words, same here.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done!
ReplyDeleteJulie:
ReplyDeleteI just want to picture them as palm trees because the contrast would be so cool.
Palm-like-trees then? ;)
Clever, very clever. A wonderful study in contrasts. How much did you have to pay the cows to pose so neatly for you?
ReplyDelete... okay ... palm-like-trees I can cope with ...
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely and almost whimsical photo!!
ReplyDeleteJust a quick note hello!! No matter what country I'm in, my heart is always in the Netherlands and I'm always keeping up with you. :)
love the line of trees in the background especially!
ReplyDeletePerfect!
ReplyDeleteVery nice composition. The white seems a little blown out. Perhaps one f-stop slower could help?
ReplyDeleteAs much as I like the photo, it was your last line that really resonated with me. I constantly feel like I'll NEVER adapt here...but lately that feeling has been accompanied by the FEAR that I may have in spite of myself. :)
ReplyDeleteI concur with most of the comments already submitted. What struck me about this picture in particular was the lovely even distribution of cows and trees - almost perfect harmony - as if evoking that famous dutch Beach Boy's Record?
ReplyDeletewow. fantastic composition. very nice.
ReplyDeleteAre those palm trees???
