seen through

that old expression, the one concerning a picture's worth, took on new meaning for me as i prepared my submission to photoblogs magazine: a thousand words is - for a simple anecdotal writer like me - an epic task. a challenge it was, but a rewarding one, and i'm delighted to have participated, and proud to be there, in the first issue, in the company of talented souls like nitsa, charles, peter, and brita.
thanks, matt!

I just read the photoblogs magazine and it looks great!
the transparant picture gives meaning to the phrase.

  2. That is WONDERFUL! I just skimmed your story - going back to read it fully after telling you congrats, and how nice to have more of your words out there. :)

  3. Wait! We need to put this one in the magazine, too! Thanks so much, Lynn for the kind words, but it is you to whom I am indebted. There will be more work of yours featured in the magazine, to be sure. What I love most about this image is the grime and chipping paint on the wood. Quite lovely.

  4. You have the gift to make the ordinary special like in this photo and the one with the pole and coloured bags.
Congratulations on your contribution to the Photoblogs Magazine? You are making me curious: how could I get a copy?

  6. I like the image of the rusty bicycle bell and also the clarity of the poster for "Sea Inside". Whilst I liked your story, it had none of that bleak, melancholic self-awareness to which I inevitably respond in your writing.
Like Matt, I too like this window image for the grott!

  7. Aw, jeez, Brita had emailed the link to photoblogs magazine and I was rushing when I read it and didn't have time to check it out. But now I have...and your words/photos are lovely! I've posted a link to the magazine and to both yours and Brita's sites...but Blogger's acting up right now, so the post hasn't shown up yet (even though it's there).
Extra bonus: a photo of you! :)

  9. The layers, lighting and perspective of this photo with the reflefection too makes it a very ruch composition. I agree, it should have been in THE magazine.
