and stretch and bend

weight-watching can be, in the long run, a frustrating business, once your constitution has recovered from the eek-what's-with-all-this-healthy-food shock and reached the inevitable this-far-and-no-further plateau.
a mirror like this (we call it a "lachspiegel" - a "smile mirror", but rachel and i,
when we discussed it, could not for the life of us remember what its actual name is) can offer welcome, if slightly misleading, encouragement.
and the aforementioned smile, of course.

  2. Ha! That's quite funny...hey, anything that helps...it's all an illusion anyway. Who is the guy behind you taking a picture of you taking a picture oh him, taking a picture of you, taking a picture of him...I'm dizzy.
Sorry, but I couldn't help but think of this lyric when I saw this wonderful photo of yours:
"If you look in the mirror it's your father's (mother's) face
And the thin grin, the thin grin, the thin grin
It's Santa Claus pulling up snow peas
Everyday in the morning when you get up and you crawl out of bed."

  3. Looks like a great place. Those trees, on both ways of the path. Humorous shot!

  4. lynn, I've always heard them referred to as "fun house" mirrors, since they would frequently be placed at carnivals or the like.
I like the perspective caused from the stretching/distortion of that mirror. Is that your husband taking the photo behind you?

  8. Whatever the name is, I want one, Lynnie. Since desultory dieting and sporadic exercise have given me nothing but sore muscles and a lot of serious cravings, maybe a 'trick' mirror is the answer!
