headed heavenward

"it's a sure sign of summer if the chair gets up when you do."
- walter winchell (1897 - 1972)

today is the first day of the ascension day long weekend here (for most people, but, alas, not for me) and pleasant weather has been predicted. hopefully everyone will find time to tilt his face toward the sun and simply savour.

  1. Because of you and your awesome photos, I have a feeling I'll be attacked by color the second I step into Amsterdam.
    If that ever happens.

  4. I love this photo, Lynn! It reminds me of summer days and evenings in parks. I'd love to have a backyard full of these chairs where we could all sit on a summer evening in the glow of paper lanterns and roast marshmallows over a fire pit and project old b&w movies onto a large white sheet hung from the side of the house. This photo says "summer" to me...and that's always a pleasurable response.

  10. I just love this photos lynn..."Be Seated"! Yes this is what our Primary School Principal used to say during my school days on our Sports Day...when we used to have these chairs "ready to unfold" kept at the end of the playground just beside that Swimming Pool..! Really, Those were the best days & Lynn your photos remind of of those days!!
